Entering the territory of STEAM

At this point it is advisable to give a definition of STEAM. Thus, we will use, as more comprehensive, the definition given by the Institute for Arts Integration & STEAM.

“STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. The end results are students who take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process.”

“STEAM is an educational approach to learning, where science, technology, engineering, and mathematics find a meeting point with the arts. The aim is to lead students to the development of dialogue and critical thinking. The end result is students who take the risk to try experiential learning and problem-solving methods which employ collaboration and creativity.’’
