Τhe objectives and results

The general and the specific objectives of the project are the following:

– to develop a methodology related with the use of theatre techniques as part of an integrated approach in order to teach science, technology, engineering and mathematics in the secondary school.

to develop high quality digital material addressed to teachers, trainers and educational managers seeking to introduce the theater in their educational institutes for improving the quality of the education

– to build the capacity of teachers to use these techniques and to test the effectiveness of the methods to the students.

The project should be carried out transnationally because:

Different countries have different expertise and experience related with STEAM and the use of theatre techniques in education and therefore they can share techniques and best practices in order to enrich the project methodology

– The project aims to develop a European-wide network of teachers and schools interested to implement theatre techniques in STEAM and promote peer-learning in a European level

The similarities in the curriculum of STEAM disciplines across Europe will increase the impact of the resources developed as they could be used from teachers across Europe.

The main results of the project are expected to be the following:

Increased capacity of secondary school teachers to use theatre methods in the framework of an integrated approach to teach STEAM

Increased interest from the secondary students on science, technology, engineering and mathematics

Increased interest and involvement in STEAM from students with language and learning difficulties as well as from students belonging to vulnerable target groups.

Increased networking and peer-learning between secondary school teachers in issues related with STEAM
